PROJECTS CARRIED OUT BY TIBS

1989: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a six month project to carry out the repair and maintenance work on 3-off 108 t/h Takuma Bassage / Oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the replacement of tubes on the main bank generating tubes, which were also supplied by TIBS. Other work carried out was a front refractory wall rebuild with modifications and new supports, plus bagasse spreader assemblies and casing work.

1991: Clarkestown, Jamacia - Sugar cane factory
This was a four month project to carry out the rehabilitation and conversion of 2-off 35 t/h Babcock WIF water-tube boilers to include a TIBS dump grate system. The work included the installation of new structural steel work, the replacement of furnace tubes, new superheater elements, a complete new fan package and modifications to the fuel conveyor system for the TIBS dump grate unit.

1991: Arusha, Tanzania - Tyre Manufacturer
This was a one month project to complete a re-tube on a Thermokrat low pressure water-tube boiler. The work involved the replacement of the main bank generating tubes, the screen wall tubes, the front and rear wall tubes and the furnace wall tubes.

1992: Enmore, Guyana - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the rebuild and repair of a 30 t/h Babcock three-drum Sterling water-tube boiler, which was damaged from an explosion. The work included the replacement of the damaged front steam drum, the machining / repairs to the mid-drum tubeplate, new main generating bank and furnace tubes, replacement superheater manifolds and elements and a complete refractory rebuild.

1993: Homs, Syria - Fertiliser
This was a four month project for the rehabilitation of a 60 t/h Deutsche Babcock oil-fired water-tube boiler. The work carried out included the resetting of the boiler drums, the installation of the main bank generating tubes, the screen-wall tubes, the furnace tubes and the superheater unit.

1994: Uitvlugt, Guyana - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project for the conversion and upgrading of a 45 t/h John Thompson bassage / cell fired water-tube boiler with a TIBS dump grate firing system. The work included the installation of new supporting steelworks and gantries, plus modifications to the furnace tubes, a new economiser with manifolds, a new air-heater and bagasse firing equipment.

1994: Spanish Town, Jamaica - Sugar cane factory
This was a four month project on the conversion and upgrading of 2-off 40 t/h Babcock WIF bagasse / cell-fired water-tube boilers with TIBS dump grate firing systems. The work included major modifications to the furnace, the replacement of the main bank generating tubes, the installation of a comprehensive fan package and bagasse firing equipment.

1995: Albion, Guyana - Sugar cane factory
This was a four month project on the conversion and upgrading of 2-off 40 t/h John Thompson bagasse / cell-fired water-tube boilers using the TIBS pin-hole fired grate system. The work included major furnace modifications, the installation of a complete fan package, plus upgrades to the air-heater and bagasse firing equipment.

1995: Barbados - Sugar cane factory
This was a five month project on re-tubing 2-off 40 t/h Bigilow water-tube boilers. The work included the replacement of the main bank generating tubes, the screen wall tubes, the furnace wall tubes, new superheater manifolds and elements, plus the air-heater was also replaced.

1996: Clarendon, Jamaica - Distillery
This was a five month project on the conversion and upgrading of a 35 t/h Babcock WIF bagasse-fired water-tube boiler to oil-firing. The work included comprehensive furnace modifications, additional main bank generating tubes, a new superheater and economiser, new fans and chimney, plus oil-firing equipment. TIBS supplied all parts necessary for the modifications and repairs.

1998: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a eight month project supervising five UK engineers, seventy two Filipino workmen and fourty local workmen during the erection of a 147 t/h Takuma (No.7) bagasse / cell-fired water-tube boiler. The work included the erection of all supporting and gantry steelwork, the erection and setting of the steam and mud drums, plus the complete tube bank installation, the chimney erection, the installation of the fans, the air-heater, the bagasse and oil-firing system and associated equipment.

1999: Adamawa, Nigeria - Sugar cane factory
This was a twelve month project on the rehabilitation of 2-off 50 t/h International Combustion bagasse / cell-fired water-tube boilers and process plant equipment. The boiler work included complete boiler re-tubes and the replacement of the refractory materials, the process plant work included the installation of juice evaporating equipment, pipework and the rehabilitation of a centrifugal station.

2000: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the scheduled boiler re-tube of 2-off 108 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the replacement of the furnace front wall and roof tubes, the screen wall tubes and a new superheater unit.

2000/1: Barahona, Dominican Republic - Sugar cane factory
This was a four month project on the rehabilitation of a 50 t/h Bigilow bagasse-fired water-tube boiler. The work included the replacement of the furnace rear wall tubes, the erection / installation of the new steelworks and casing, the re-modelling of the furnace to accommodate the new bagasse-firing equipment.

2001: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the scheduled boiler re-tube of 2-off 136 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the replacement of the complete main bank generating tubes on boiler No.2 and the replacement of the furnace side wall tubes on boiler No.3.

2001: Manchester, Jamaica - Steel Manufacturers
This was a two month project on the partial re-tube of a 150 t/h Babcock oil-fired water-tube boiler. The work included the complete replacement of the main bank generating tubes, a new superheater with manifolds, the replacement of the furnace front wall and floor tubes, plus the extensive replacement of refractory material.

2002: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the scheduled re-tube of 2-off 108 Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the complete replacement of the main bank generating tubes on boiler No.3 and the furnace side wall tubes on Boiler No.1.

2002: Masindi, Uganda - Sugar cane factory
This was a two month project on a scheduled boiler maintenance program for 2-off 35 t/h Foster Wheeler / Walchanager bagasse-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the maintenance tasks for all boiler equipment, air-heaters, fans, pumps, fuel conveyors and general boiler cleaning.

2003: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was an eight month project on the erection of a 147 t/h Takuma (Boiler No.8) bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boiler. The work included the erection of all supporting and gantry steelwork, the erection and setting of the steam and mud drums, a complete boiler tube installation, the chimney erection, the installation of the fans, air-heater installation, the associated pipework and the bagasse / oil-firing system.

2003/4: Masindi, Uganda - Sugar cane factory
This was a twelve month project on the conversion of 2-off 35 t/h Foster Wheeler bagasse-fired water-tube boilers with the TIBS pin-hole grate system, plus the erection of a surplus bagasse furnace. The work included extensive redesigning and rebuilding of the boiler furnaces to accomodate the pin-hole grate system, plus the erection of new manifolds and tubes, the erection of steelwork supports and the installation of the bagasse-firing equipment. We also installed new fans, a new 50m chimney, a new air-flow bagasse conveyor system and extensive refractory material.

2005: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project for the scheduled re-tubing of 2-off 108 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the complete replacement of the main bank generating tubes on boiler No.4 and the replacement of the screen-wall tubes on boiler No.2.

2006: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project for the scheduled re-tubing of 2-off 136 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the complete replacement of the main bank generating tubes on boiler No.5 and the installation of a new superheater on boiler No.1

2007/8: Masindi, Uganda - Sugar cane factory
This was a twenty month project on a water-tube boiler converting a bassage furnace to a 50 t/h bagasse-fired furnace with a TIBS pin-hole grate system. The work included the removing of redundant equipment, extensive modifications to the chimney, the erection and setting of the boiler drums, the installation of boiler tubes, erecting and installing a new air-heater, the installation of new fans and pumps. We were also awarded extra works which included the installation of a Peter Brotherhood 8MW alternator unit with the associated pipework and electrical installation (HV + LV cabling)

2009: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the scheduled re-tubing of 2-off 136 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired boilers. The work included the complete replacement of the main bank generating tubes on boiler No.6 and a new superheater installation on boiler No.5.

2009/10: Khartoum, Sudan - Power station
This was a four month project on the replacement of superheater elements in 2-off 100MWe Wagneer Biro (Austrian Energy) oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work involved removing the sidewall buck-stays and the removal of a section of the tube wall, to gain access to the superheater tube bank. The redundant superheaters were removed and replaced with new elements.

2010: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the replacement of damaged parts on a 147 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boiler. The plant had suffered serious damage due to low water levels in the boiler. The work included the removal and replacement of the superheater, the front wall, roof wall and screen wall tubes. Several structural beams were also replaced, along with refractory material, the casings and associated parts.

2011: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the scheduled re-tubing of 2-off 108 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the replacement of the superheater on boiler No.4 and the replacement of the front wall and roof tubes on boiler No.2. In addition, we carried out the complete rebuild of the fire damaged air-heater on boiler No.1

2012: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the scheduled re-tubing of a 147 t/h and 2-off 108 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired water-tube boilers. The work included the replacement of the superheater elements, the front wall and roof tubes, plus the replacement of two sets of steam riser tubes.

2013: Rabak, Sudan - Sugar cane factory
This was a three month project on the scheduled re-tubing of 2-off 108 t/h Takuma bagasse / oil-fired boilers. The work included the replacement of the main bank superheater elements and the steam outlet manifold on boiler No.6. The complete front wall and roof tubes were also replaced on boiler No.4.

2013: Humberside, UK - Coal
This was a three week project on the replacement of a hot-gas ducting system. The work involved the removal and replacement of a large section of refractory lined ducting, which was on a tight time-scale involving heavy duty cranes and lifting equipment.

2014: Avonmouth, UK - Waste to Energy site
This was a steam boiler plant project with 2-off waste heat boilers, plus superheaters, economisers, de-superheaters and a water treatment plant. The complex project involved the design, installation and commissioning of the steam boiler plant, plus the Triveni steam turbine. This was a high profile project for TIBS using cutting edge technology for generating energy from municipal waste.

2015: Wakefield, UK - Waste to Energy site (Renewi)
This was a twelve month project with 2-off vertical coil steam generators with a steam accumulator, plus steel structures, gantries and platforms. The work included the supply and installation of the package coil steam generators, steam accumulator plus steelwork. However, we also designed and supplied pipework and C&I packages.

2016: Plymouth

2017: Nottingham, UK - Waste to Energy site (Enviroenergy)
This was a four month renewable obligation certificate (ROC) project where we supplied 2-off 2 t/h gas-fired coil steam generators for warming the district heating and generating plant ring-main / distribution-main. In additional, we also carried out the disconnection of the existing gas-fired water-tube boilers from the generating steam main and supplied pressure reducing sets for the connection into the LP district heating system. The work included the supply and installation of the package steam generators, plus the associated pipework and C&I package. We also carried the design, supply and installation packages for the LP district heating system, so that Enviroenergy qualified for the ROC's scheme before the 31-03-2017.

2017: Peterborough, UK - Waste to Engergy site (Viridor)
This was a three month renewable obligation certificate (ROC) project where we designed, supplied and installed a 40kW district heating project for the council buildings next door to the EfW plant. The scope of works for TIBS included the pipework installation of LP steam to the district heating skid, the design, supply and installation of the DH skid including a bespoke tube heat exchanger, the pump assembly, the C&I package and a bespoke control panel. We also designed, supplied and installed the pipework between the two buildings and the domestic system connections in the council building. The project was ran under CDM with TIBS being the Principle Contractor, Fichtner Consulting being the Principle Designer and Viridor / Peterborough City Council being the client. A civil company called Skanska prepared all the ground work for the pipework installation between the two building under the guidance from TIBS. The project was a success with Viridor / PCC achieving their ROC's qualification before the 31-03-2017.
